Editorial Standards
How HantaView sources, verifies, and updates content
Our editorial principle
HantaView publishes only what authoritative public health bodies have already published. We do not produce original medical opinion, original epidemiology, or original treatment guidance. Every claim on this site can be traced to one of the primary sources listed below.
If a figure or claim cannot be sourced to one of those organisations, it does not appear on the site. We do not estimate, extrapolate, or speculate.
Primary sources
- World Health Organization (WHO) ↗
Disease Outbreak Notices (DONs), global burden estimates, fact sheets, and case-classification guidance.
- US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) ↗
US cumulative case counts (1993–present), symptom and clinical-phase descriptions, prevention and safe-cleaning protocols, vector species lists.
- Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) ↗
Americas regional case counts, epidemiological alerts, regional case fatality rates, outbreak investigations in South America.
How content is produced
- Source first. Every page starts from the relevant CDC, WHO, or PAHO publication. We do not paraphrase from secondary news coverage when a primary source exists.
- Single fact, single citation. Numeric claims (case counts, fatality rates, dates) carry an inline link or footer attribution pointing directly to the document they came from.
- No medical advice. All symptom and prevention content is reproduced as educational summaries of public health guidance. We are not clinicians and we do not diagnose, prescribe, or recommend treatment.
- Outbreak data is live. The 2026 MV Hondius outbreak figures shown on the home page, map, and outbreak page are read directly from WHO Disease Outbreak Notices and refreshed every 6 hours.
Review cadence
- Outbreak pages — refreshed every 6 hours against WHO DONs; full re-read whenever a new DON is published.
- News feed — re-aggregated every 6 hours from Google News, BBC Health/Science, and WHO News.
- Symptom, prevention, and FAQ pages — reviewed against CDC guidance on a rolling basis and on any change to WHO/CDC source pages. The “Last reviewed” date on each page reflects the most recent verification pass.
Corrections
If you find a factual error — a wrong number, an outdated guideline, a broken citation, or a mischaracterised source — please email hantaview@gmail.com. We aim to acknowledge corrections within 48 hours and publish a fix as soon as the primary source confirms the correct information.
Substantive corrections that change the meaning of a published figure or guideline are noted in the page footer alongside the “Last reviewed” date.

- We do not accept paid placement or sponsored content within editorial pages.
- We do not republish full third-party articles — the News page links out.
